KWS Vegetables BV in Wageningen, the Netherlands, is seeking a Head of Applied Genomics (m/f/d) to co-develop the research strategy and lead the Applied Genomics team within our global breeding portfolio.

You will drive molecular breeding methods, collaborate with Global Research and Service Departments, build external partnerships, manage budgets, and mentor scientists to advance world-class vegetable genetics.

Competenze

• MSc/PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in Crop Genetics.
• Experience in Genomics, Genetics and Breeding Support.
• Proven track record in building and leading teams.
• International orientation and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Mansioni

• Formulate and drive the short- and long-term strategy for Applied Genomics in line with KWS Vegetables strategy.
• Lead the Applied Genomics team in Wageningen, including attraction, retention and training of scientists.
• Ensure development and implementation of molecular breeding methods and protocols.
• Collaborate across crop platforms and with Global Research and Service Departments.
• Build alliances with external academic institutions and technology providers.
• Oversee budgeting for Applied Genomics and coordinate HR planning and career development.
