Job description

Ready to scale your career in a high-growth scale up where your results drive real world change?

We’re Sensorfact, Europe’s #1 smart monitoring platform for the industry, on a mission to make industry smarter, cleaner, and more efficient. Every day, our technology helps thousands of manufacturers cut energy waste, reduce costs, and lower carbon emissions through intelligent data insights and automation.

Today, we’ve joined forces with ABB, a global leader in electrification and automation. This partnership has propelled us onto the world stage, enabling us to expand rapidly and help more businesses optimize their energy efficiency, cut costs, and make a positive impact on the planet.

What you will do

As Head of Frontend Engineering, you will make an important contribution to our company’s mission. Our frontend sits at the intersection between a modern stack of backend and data processing technologies and our customers’ need for an intuitive way to quickly discover cost‑saving insights and mission critical performance data. Our frontend engineers bring to life the product needs of our customers in a design that’s appealing and understandable.

In your role you will empower a team of seven talented Frontend Engineers, working across different value streams (e.g. Energy or Maintenance), which are multidisciplinary product teams that deliver end‑to‑end value to our customers. You will be the glue that holds the team together, contributing to a professional but relaxed workflow and steering processes towards standardization and efficiency where appropriate. You will also shape the vision for frontend engineering at Sensorfact, grounded in the needs of your team and the products they build. You will enable others to do their best work and develop themselves in line with their personal goals. We believe in leading by example, so you are encouraged to contribute hands‑on at times to keep in touch with your team’s developer experience.

Sensorfact is a dynamic workplace: change is a constant. The way we are organized is a snapshot of today’s needs. Your job description might evolve in time to meet the challenges of tomorrow. Flexibility and pragmatism are a must. Knowing what to focus on is the key to success.

Your responsibilities
  • Inspire, mentor, and manage a team of seven Frontend Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, ownership, transparency and above all psychological safety.

  • Provide technical guidance and career development opportunities to your team members.

  • Contribute hands‑on in ways complementary to your role, such as by improving architecture and tooling or technical leadership of a product team.

  • Work closely with Product Managers of the different value streams to facilitate timely delivery of new features and identify staffing needs.

  • Collaborate with fellow Engineering Managers and the VP of Technology to advance strategic projects that cross domains, such as authentication and authorization, domain driven design, and operational excellence.

  • Establish best practices in frontend engineering and software development, emphasizing proper scalability, code quality, testing, security and continuous integration.

  • Drive hiring and onboarding processes to grow the team with top talent when needed.

The key technologies you will be working with

Our day‑to‑day frontend stack is strongly anchored to TypeScript, React, Vite and GraphQL. We explore new technologies when valuable, so an up to date view of the frontend technology landscape is a must. In addition, we expect an engineering leader to be comfortable with a holistic view of our services by having familiarity with an AWS stack and a microservice architecture and to be able to actively contribute to cross‑domain discussions and technical initiatives.

How we do it

You will join the Engineering department, alongside the Backend, Data Engineering, Data Science & Analytics, IoT and DevOps disciplines.

Our cross‑functional teams work in a hybrid Agile fashion adapted to Sensorfact’s needs, including scrum with 2‑week sprints, sprint planning and retrospective sessions. The course of our products is determined by quarterly goals, set collaboratively by PMs together with the product teams themselves. We are very flexible about working from home, but we enjoy meeting each other in the office regularly.

As Head of Frontend Engineering, you will not join one of the product teams on a permanent basis, but you are expected to join teams from time to time to lead strategic projects or coach teams on their process. The frontend discipline has regular syncs and we have a monthly tech day to align across product teams and work together on tech initiatives.

What you bring
  • Proven experience (7+ years) in frontend or full‑stack software engineering, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.

  • Strong technical background, including TypeScript and modern frontend technologies (e.g. React, Vite, Node, Material UI).

  • Experience guiding teams in designing scalable frontend architectures and development workflows, ideally including near real‑time data.

  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices and of how frontend applications fit into a distributed, service‑oriented architecture.

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills. Comfortable working in a diverse, multi‑cultural environment.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (C2).

  • Experience in a B2B or B2C product focused on data visualization is a plus.
