Job summary

Mondavi is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to own and develop the finance function across multiple Dutch entities. You will lead a small finance team, drive monthly closings, provide insightful reporting, and partner with the Managing Director on strategic decisions.

You will implement scalable processes, strengthen controls, and automate where possible, while delivering accurate financial insights and supporting audits. Fluency in Dutch and English is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, accounting or finance operations.
• Experience with Dutch entities, including fiscal and statutory matters, and knowledge of Dutch accounting practices.
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial administration and ensure all transactions and balance sheet positions are complete, accurate and reconciled.
• Independently run the monthly closing, including the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and management reports.
• Analyse and explain key financial developments and variances.
• Manage the year-end closing and coordinate the external audit or accountant review as the main contact.
• Keep documentation, reconciliations and supporting schedules audit-ready.
• Improve finance processes, controls and reporting, and replace manual work with automated solutions.
• Support MD with insights on profitability, cash flow, risks and business decisions.
• Develop and coach the finance team and act as the main finance contact within the organisation.

Our client is a growing organisation with multiple entities in the Netherlands. As the company develops, its finance function needs to grow along with it: more structure, more automation, stronger controls and better financial insights. You will join a small finance team and play a central role in taking the finance function to the next level.

As the Head of Finance, you are responsible for the complete finance function across all entities. You ensure accurate and reliable financial administration, timely monthly reporting, strong financial controls and an efficient year-end and audit process. As the senior finance professional, you lead and support the finance team, including a Junior Finance Controller, and act as the financial sparring partner of the Managing Director, to whom you report directly. Your responsibilities include:

• Managing the financial administration and ensuring all transactions and balance sheet positions are complete, accurate and properly reconciled
• Independently running the monthly closing, including the P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and management reports
• Analysing and explaining key financial developments and variances
• Managing the year-end closing and coordinating the external audit or accountant review as the main point of contact
• Keeping documentation, reconciliations and supporting schedules audit-ready
• Improving finance processes, controls and reporting, and replacing manual work with more scalable, automated solutions
• Supporting the Managing Director with insights on profitability, cash flow, risks and business decisions
• Supporting and developing the finance team and acting as the main finance contact within the organisation
• A monthly salary between € 6,500 and € 7,000 gross, excluding holiday pay

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
• 6+ years of experience in bookkeeping, financial administration, accounting or finance operations
• Experience managing complete financial administrations and month-end and year-end closings
• Experience with Dutch entities, including fiscal and statutory matters, and knowledge of Dutch accounting practices
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems and strong Excel skills
• Experience supporting junior colleagues is an advantage
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English
