Job summary

Optics11 is seeking a Technical design engineer / Technical draughtsman to convert customer projects into detailed, manufacturable engineering packages. The role centers on creating 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, and BOMs for fiber optic sensing systems in offshore and harsh environments.

You will collaborate with project managers, R&D, supply chain, production, quality and suppliers to define practical design details, ensuring producibility, testability, and timely delivery of customer

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 7–12 years of experience.
Strong mechanical design and CAD experience.
Experience creating detailed drawings and BOMs.
Good understanding of manufacturing, assembly, tolerances, materials and documentation.
Ability to work with project teams, production, suppliers, and quality.

Responsibilities

Convert projects from conceptual to detailed design with manufacturability in mind.
Create production-ready 3D models, 2D drawings, assemblies, and specifications.
Define mounting, interfaces, sealing, cabling routing, connector placement and assembly sequence.
Ensure designs can be built, inspected, tested and delivered.
Support procurement and production with technical drawings and specifications.
