Job summary

BLoSH is hiring a Graduate Software Engineer in Amsterdam for a full-time, on-site role. You will implement new trading algorithms in Rust and work with engineers and analysts to improve trading behavior, including design and performance optimization across systems and networks.

The role targets candidates who recently completed an MSc and have 1–2 years of relevant experience, preferably with Rust, C or C++.

We are looking for a Graduate Software Engineer with a strong interest in high-performance and low-level software engineering to help us extend and improve our trading systems and compete in new markets. This role is particularly suited to someone who has recently completed a relevant MSc and has preferably gained approximately 1-2 years of relevant software engineering experience, gained through professional work, substantial personal projects, or other hands-on development experience , preferably working with Rust, C, or C++.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role (location Amsterdam) for a Graduate Software Engineer. You will be responsible for implementing new trading algorithms and other new functionality in Rust, collaborating with other software engineers and quantitative analysts to understand and improve trading behavior. You will participate in the design of new system components, analyse and optimise performance, in code and across networked systems. We are looking for someone who takes full ownership of their work and has the drive to push ideas into production. You should be confident in making decisions, assertive when improvements are needed, and motivated to lead changes that strengthen both our systems and our trading results.

Requirements

• Relevant programming experience with Rust, C, or C++
• Preferably 1-2 years of relevant software engineering experience, gained through professional work, substantial personal projects, or other hands-on development experience
• Good understanding of memory management, data representation, concurrency, CPU behaviour, and other low-level system mechanics
• Solid ability to test, benchmark and fine-tune ultra-low latency code
• Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under high-pressure conditions
• Excellent communication skills, including reporting and documentation
• Experience with financial markets is not required; an interest in the subject is.

This position is on-site in Amsterdam and we currently do not offer relocation support for this role. Candidates should therefore either already be based in the Netherlands or be able and willing to relocate to the Netherlands independently. Visa sponsorship may be available for eligible candidates who are already residing in the Netherlands.
