Optiver in Amsterdam is seeking a Graduate Software Engineer to work on mission-critical platforms, collaborating with traders, researchers and engineers to build simple, well-architected solutions for the capital markets.

You’ll join Optiver’s Global Academy, receive mentorship, hands-on training in trading theory and the tech stack, and enjoy a culture of collaboration, performance bonuses, and extensive relocation and visa support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent with outstanding academic achievements.
• Graduating by 2026, or up to 3 years of work experience.
• Passionate about clean code and well-architected systems.
• Proficient in C++, Python or Java with strong understanding of architecture.
• Knowledge of algorithms, memory, concurrency, CPU architecture, operating systems and relational databases.
• Entrepreneurial attitude and interest in finance.
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, traders and business operations.

Responsibilities

• Work with traders and engineers to develop simple, well-architected solutions for the capital markets.
• Join Optiver’s Global Academy and complete training on trading theory and the tech stack.
• Gain in-depth engineering knowledge to support fast, accurate decision-making.
• Contribute to codes that enable teams to react to markets with precision.
