The Next Organization in Bussum invites a driven student to perform independent research and gain hands-on experience in strategy consulting. You’ll work closely with our team to develop insights that help clients and our organisation grow.

There is flexibility to contribute to client projects as a working student a few days per week. Curiosity, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a broad interest in strategy and organisational development are key.

Qualifications

You step off the train or out of the car at Bussum Zuid station, cross the road and walk into our office. On the second floor you look out over the trees with birds singing in them, and every now and then a train passes by. In one corner colleagues are brainstorming while you finish the last slides for a proposal that will be presented shortly. Soft music plays in the background and someone puts on fresh coffee. Colleagues come in, greet each other and join one of the desks. Someone asks for your take on a strategic question that came up in a client conversation. In between there is time for some fresh air: two minutes away lies an open meadow, a place where people often walk and ideas take shape.

Can you picture yourself there? A cup of coffee in hand, a head full of ideas, a strategic challenge, and colleagues and clients to think it through with.

At The Next Organization you work on your own research and get the chance to gain practical experience in strategy consulting.

• Carry out independent research in collaboration with The Next Organization.
• Develop and share insights that contribute to the further development of our clients and of our own organisation.
• You get the opportunity to contribute to client projects by working one or more days a week as a working student.

What we are looking for in you:

• Curiosity, an entrepreneurial and commercial mindset, self-starting and full of ideas.
• A broad interest in strategy, client behaviour and organisational development.
• An innovative and inquisitive mindset.
• You are studying for a university degree in, for example, (industrial) engineering and management, business economics, international business or strategic management.
• Command of Dutch at a professional level, so you can work with our Dutch clients.

Possible thesis subjects:

• Quantifying the impact of social and ecological sustainability on economic performance.
• Methods for implementing sustainability, including success factors such as buy-in, stakeholder management and dealing with ecological and social challenges.
• Applying Artificial Intelligence in, for example, our Network Business Model Canvas or other tools and methods within our client profile.
• Or your own relevant research question.
