Job summary

Optiver’s Equity Options Trading team is looking for Graduate Equity Analysts to shape fundamental research-driven trading. As an Equity Analyst you will use current events and fundamental research to influence trading decisions, sit on the trading floor, and collaborate with Traders, Quant Researchers and Developers to solve problems and identify opportunities.

You’ll begin with structured training through the Optiver Academy, taking ownership of coverage and research-backed trades as you grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, Finance, Economics or business related subject.
• Available to start full time work in August 2027 (either graduating by 2027, or holding a maximum of 3 years work experience).
• Has a genuine interest in financial markets and demonstrates a willingness to learn new techniques/skills and teach others.
• Able to work under the guidance of mentors and develop fundamental research-driven ideas independently.
• Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Entrepreneurial by nature - you've run something of your own, taken risks that didn't always pay off, or committed to getting genuinely good at something difficult.
• A determined and resilient individual, equipped with strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
• Evidenced time management, organizational and multitasking skills with experience in computer programming being preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Identify fundamentally driven trading opportunities and work with traders to capture them, focusing on maximising your impact on overall desk PnL.
• Think probabilistically and perform scenario analysis for relevant upcoming events and catalysts. Analyse time sensitive headlines for companies within your coverage sectors and assess their potential impact on volatility and/or stock prices.
• Assist in the growth of our fundamental research team by developing processes, identifying new areas of market inefficiencies and building relevant industry networks.
• Use AI-enabled tools, supported by training, to organise and analyse news, events and company information, applying your own judgement to validate their output and improve the research tooling.
