Job summary

bol is seeking a Backend Software Engineer (Golang) in Utrecht to own the backend foundation for ShopCore-BackEnd. You will build scalable services, operate cloud infrastructure, and shape the platform behind dozens of teams and millions of customers.

You will collaborate across squads, drive reliability, automation, and developer experience, and explore AI-driven improvements while delivering robust APIs and platform capabilities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor or Master in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience: 7-10+ years in backend software engineering with ownership of services.
• Proficient in Golang and at-scale backend architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, resilient services and APIs
• Work with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code solutions
• Monitor, operate, and improve the services you build
• Contribute to architecture and system design discussions
• Write clean, maintainable code with automated tests
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers and other bol colleagues
• Explore how AI can help us build and operate an even better platform
