Job summary

NDA is building payment infrastructure for customers worldwide and expanding into physical payments with a new product line. We seek a backend engineer with strong Go experience to shape architecture, scale systems, and own the backend for physical payment terminals from design to production.

You will work on profiling, testing, and observability to improve performance and reliability, and collaborate with a global team in Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• Four+ years of backend engineering experience building and operating systems at scale.
• Strong Go production experience and deep understanding of language tooling and runtime.
• Bachelor's degree in CS; master's preferred.
• Solid CS fundamentals and first-principles reasoning.
• Experience with concurrency, distributed systems, and failure handling with real examples.
• Clear, precise English communication; able to explain complex problems clearly.

Responsibilities

The company builds payment infrastructure used by customers around the world, processing millions of transactions a day. Its platform supports global payments, and a new product line expands into physical payments.

• Build the backend for physical payment terminals, including merchant-device identity, secure provisioning, configuration, and integration with the payment platform
• Shape the architecture and engineering practices for the new product line
• Use profiling, testing, and observability to understand system behavior and make informed decisions about performance, resource use, and recovery
• Build, deploy, and operate solutions, following them from design through production

Требования:

• At least four years of professional backend engineering experience, including building and operating systems at substantial scale
• Strong hands-on production Go experience and enthusiasm for understanding the language, its tooling, and runtime behavior in depth
• A completed technical bachelor's degree; a master's in Computer Science is preferred
• Strong computer science fundamentals and first-principles reasoning
• Practical understanding of concurrency, distributed systems, and failure handling, supported by concrete examples of your own work
• Clear, precise communication in English; able to quickly get to the essence of a problem and explain reasoning at a whiteboard
• Proactive and curious approach to identifying risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities, investigating their impact, and advancing improvements with the team
