Job summary

Optics11 in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our Energy team and support customers with advanced monitoring and diagnostic solutions for high‑voltage electrical assets.

You will bridge customers, sales, product management, and engineering across the full customer journey—from technical discussions and demonstrations to field testing, installation, commissioning, training, data analysis, and post‑deployment support.

Qualifications

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to investigate technical issues in field and customer-facing environments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
Customer-oriented mindset and professional demeanor with the ability to build trust with customers and teams.
Willingness to travel internationally, typically around 30% of the time.
Background in electrical engineering, power systems, high-voltage equipment, or condition monitoring.

Responsibilities

Support sales teams during meetings, demonstrations, workshops, and technical discussions.
Translate customer needs into suitable technical solutions and prepare technical content for proposals.
Plan and execute field testing, installation, commissioning, training, data analysis and post-installation support.
Collaborate with engineering, product management, operations, logistics, and sales to ensure successful project delivery.
Contribute to technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge sharing.
