Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Technician to join our Netherlands/Belgium service team. You will commission, install, maintain, and test high-voltage and electromechanical equipment at customer sites, ensuring safety and reliability.

You will work independently and with a skilled team, handling complex start-ups and on-site service tasks. Ideal candidates have a technical diploma and at least 3 years of hands-on field service experience, with strong diagnostic and communication skills

Qualifications

• Technical diploma (MBO or equivalent) in mechatronics, electromechanics, or electrical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on field service, maintenance, or commissioning experience.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, connect wiring, and assemble mechanical components.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and willingness to stop unsafe work.
• Good communication in Dutch (B1) and English (B2) with willingness to improve Dutch.
• Valid driver's license and readiness to travel frequently within the Netherlands and Belgium.

Responsibilities

• Commission, install, test, and maintain high-voltage and electromechanical systems at customer sites.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues in electrical and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair using drawings and diagnostic tools.
• Ensure compliance with strict safety standards and local regulations.
• Communicate clearly with customers about service work, equipment performance and safety.
• Recommend product upgrades to improve reliability and performance.
• Provide basic on-site training to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
• Develop strong relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
