Job summary

The Kraft Heinz Company is seeking a Global Group Lead for Commodity Risk Management focusing on Packaging and Energy. You will lead a global team, develop robust risk strategies, and advise senior leaders on market insights and hedging options.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred in a related field.
  • At least 7 years of extensive Commodity Risk Management experience within a leading global CPG.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and influence business decisions and change.
  • Can effectively articulate various perspectives and impacts of issues and project them into the future.
  • Organizational Agility – knows how to get things done through formal and informal channels.
  • Priority Setting – Spends time on what’s most important.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a high performing team of risk managers managing Packaging and Energy commodity portfolios.
  • Oversight of and responsibility for the Global Commodity Risk Management program for assigned portfolio.
  • Design and implement hedging strategies balancing external market drivers with internal goals and objectives.
  • Coordinate strategy alignment with stakeholders across the Zone and with Global Procurement leaders.
  • Coach and develop the team to manage price inflation and deflation.
  • Lead stakeholder alignment meetings to inform the zones and Global Procurement leaders of positions and outlooks.
  • Utilize Zero Based Budgeting to justify cost and maximize efficiency.

Global Group Lead, Commodity Risk Management –Packaging and Energyat a glance …

Reporting to the Global Head of Commodity Risk Management, the Global Group Lead is responsible for ~1.5-2 billion USD global spend. The categories are complex and volatile from a Global Supply Chain and Price Risk Management perspective. The individual in this position should be a commodity risk management expert, with a strong background in leading and developing strong teams, with a demonstrated capability to develop a holistic global price risk management strategy for multiple categories. The individual should drive and challenge the team to reach targets and provide solid advice on all related markets and supply issues to senior leadership.

Key Ingredients:
  • Develop and lead a high performing team of risk managers managing Packaging and Energy commodity portfolios, and support the function with best in class Market Insights, Research and Compliance.
  • Oversight of and responsibility for the Global Commodity Risk Management program for assigned portfolio utilizing a hybrid of physical and financial instruments including futures, forward contracts, physical inventory, forecasting and communication to senior management.
  • Design and implement effective short, mid, and long-term hedging strategies balancing external market drivers with internal goals and objectives of each business unit, and provide advanced risk analytics, market guidance and performance metrics to both regional and global business leaders.
  • Coordinate strategy alignment throughout all the stakeholders in the Zone, gain approvals and document approved strategies for internal auditing.
  • Coach and develop the team to manage price inflation and deflation focusing on both upside and downside market risks and contribute to their skills, development, and career planning.
  • Lead weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly stakeholder alignment meetings to inform the zones and Global Procurement leaders of all Commodity positions, market outlooks and strategies.
  • Utilize Zero Based Budgeting to justify cost and operate in a lean manner to maximize operating efficiency and speed of execution.
  • Compliance, reporting and other duties:
