Job summary

IPL Schoeller is a leading manufacturer of sustainable packaging solutions with a global footprint. We are seeking a General Ledger Accountant to maintain accurate financial records and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across our European operations.

The role requires IFRS expertise, intercompany reconciliation, and VAT reporting, with collaboration across finance teams in a multinational SSC environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA, or active pursuit of certification is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in General Ledger Accounting, Record-to-Report (R2R), or Financial Accounting.
• Experience within a Shared Services Centre (SSC) or multinational environment is advantageous.
• Experience supporting multiple legal entities and international stakeholders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany balances and fixed asset accounting.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Analyze P&L and balance sheet accounts to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policies.
• VAT reporting, preparation of monthly VAT reports and returns.
• Assist with statutory financial statements, management reports, budgeting, and forecasting activities as required.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local accounting regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiency, automation, and standardization across the finance function.
