Job summary

Carnival Corporation & plc is seeking an experienced Director, Maritime Standards – Nautical for CSMART in the Netherlands. You will lead the Fleet Captain program and drive improvements in nautical operations across Carnival’s brands.

You will connect training with onboard practice and translate fleet experience into actionable standards. The role requires senior maritime leadership, a Master STCW certificate and the ability to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of cruise-ship marine operations, shipboard leadership and safety culture.
• Proven experience leading senior maritime professionals and setting priorities.
• Experience in leading global programs through direct and matrix relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Fleet Captain program, setting annual priorities and coordinating deployment plans.
• Allocate Fleet Captain activities across shipboard reviews and SME contributions.
• Oversee ship visits and feedback channels to evaluate training application.
• Identify recurring learning, gaps and good practices from fleet feedback.
• Translate fleet learning into recommendations for courses and simulator scenarios.
• Serve as senior nautical SME for CSMART and brands.
• Collaborate with Maritime Professional Development and other stakeholders.
• Coach senior maritime professionals and shape Fleet Captain deployments.
