Job summary

Destinus is seeking a Director of Accounting & Controlling to own the integrity of group financial reporting across multiple countries and entities. You will set IFRS and local GAAP standards, drive the close calendar, and lead a distributed finance team with a focus on audit readiness and scalable processes.

You will manage consolidation, intercompany eliminations, and costing in a complex manufacturing environment, partnering with FP&A, Treasury, and Operations to deliver accurate schedules

Qualifications

• Deep IFRS knowledge and local GAAP familiarity across European jurisdictions.
• Experience owning group accounting policies and complex technical judgments.
• Proven ability to lead group close and consolidation at large scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual group close across all consolidated entities.
• Own the group close calendar and coordinate Accounting, Controlling, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and regional finance teams.
• Escalate and resolve complex accounting issues while maintaining reporting quality.
• Coordinate consolidation adjustments, intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and group activities.
• Strengthen internal controls, policies, and their application across the group.
• Lead ERP and finance systems improvements (MS Dynamics, IFRS/local GAAP configurations).
• Own group-wide cost accounting standards, standard and actual costing, WIP and variance analysis.
• Oversee manufacturing cost accounting and Operations Finance reporting.
• Collaborate with FP&A to align actuals, forecasts and budgets.
• Manage inventory valuation, cost capitalization under IAS 2, and chart of accounts governance.
• Partner with Treasury on working capital, provisions, capex accounting, and balance sheet forecasting.
• Oversee AP/AR controls, DSO/DPO discipline, and cash flow management.
• Interface with external auditors across group and statutory audits.
• Ensure timely statutory financial statements across jurisdictions.
• Support lender/investor due diligence with audit-ready schedules.
• Standardize processes and controls across entities, reduce manual workarounds.
• Collaborate with IT/ERP on scalable accounting, costing, consolidation, and reporting.
