Job summary

Siemens is seeking an on-site commissioning engineer to lead the testing and commissioning of power distribution systems for data center projects worldwide. You will attend project meetings, manage the commissioning process, ensure safety, adhere to schedules, and control budgets. You will coordinate a team and handle on-site administration.

The role requires extensive travel across EMEA, deep testing knowledge, and a willingness to work abroad; a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (MBO+ with significant experience).
• Experience in commissioning data center or energy/utility projects is a strong advantage.
• Commitment to safety and a positive attitude.
• In-depth knowledge of testing and commissioning of power distribution systems (MV/LV).
• Experience with CTs/VTs, protection relays, automation and bus communication.
• Proficiency in testing methods (primary/secondary injection, insulation resistance, HiPot).
• Willingness to work abroad for extended periods and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Attend project meetings on-site and lead the commissioning process.
• Ensure safety, schedule adherence, quality, and budget.
• Oversee the commissioning team and verify results against requirements.
• Handle on-site admin: planning, drawing updates, issue resolution.
• Assess on-site risks and opportunities related to commercial and engineering aspects; monitor standards and EHS.
• On smaller projects, directly oversee testing; on larger projects, manage a team.
