Job summary

Adyen is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Amsterdam. In this role you’ll be the engine behind our Record-to-Report cycle for Operational Expenses, ensuring the integrity of the ledger as Adyen scales and financial data remains rock-solid.

You’ll go beyond data entry with a risk-minded approach, applying controls across P2P and R2R, managing supplier accruals and IFRS 16 entries, and supporting intercompany reconciliations and audits for accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in GL accounting, specifically P2P and R2R.
• Detail-oriented with strong balance sheet integrity.
• Collaborative with FinOps, Controllers and Tax lawyers.
• Proactive with a mindset to automate or improve processes.
• Experience handling IFRS 16 lease entries and intercompany reconciliations.

GL Accountant:

Adyen is looking for a General Ledger Accountant to join our Group Finance team in Amsterdam. In this role, you aren’t just "processing numbers" , you are the engine behind our Record-to-Report (R2R) cycle for Operational Expenses. You will act as the critical link between business operations and financial data, ensuring that as Adyen scales, our financial integrity remains rock-solid.

You will move beyond simple data entry to maintain a holistic "risk mindset," proactively identifying vulnerabilities and anomalies before they ever hit a report. Being part of a centralized Finance Operations team means you’ll be working in the engine room of a listed financial institution, where your work directly impacts our global trial balance.

What you’ll do

• R2R Ownership: Act as the detail layer for Operational Expenses, owning the accuracy of GL bookings and ensuring a clean Trial Balance.
• Accounting Control: Apply rigorous controls to the P2P and R2R cycle. You’ll validate data flowing from FinOps, manage supplier accruals, and reconcile prepaid assets.
• High-Value Oversight: Act as the financial gatekeeper for high-value transactions, performing due diligence to ensure accuracy and relieving Financial Controllers of transactional approvals.
• Risk & Anomaly Detection: Regularly review the full ledger to detect trends or vulnerabilities, acting as the first line of defense for data integrity.
• Asset & Lease Management: Manage the Fixed Asset Register, including capitalization, depreciation, and executing lease accounting (IFRS 16) entries.
• Intercompany & Reporting: Manage intercompany bookings and reconciliations, perform month-end variance analysis to validate OpEx trends, and support internal/external audits.
  

Who you are

• Experienced: You have a solid background with at least three years of experience in GL accounting, specifically within P2P cycles and R2R processes.
• Detail-Oriented & Analytical: You are passionate about balance sheet integrity and "getting it right the first time."
• Collaborative: You enjoy working with multiple stakeholders, from FinOps to various stakeholders such as Controllers and Tax lawyers, to ensure smooth financial reporting.
• Proactive: You question the status quo and look for ways to automate or improve processes as we grow.
• Adaptable: You can manage multiple projects, from IFRS 16 lease entries to intercompany reconciliations, without losing focus.
