Job summary

eBay is seeking a Senior Manager, Machine Learning Engineering - Generative AI to lead a team of researchers and engineers. This hands-on leadership role blends state-of-the-art AI exploration with building scalable, reliable products used across our global platforms.

You will set technical direction, grow the team, and collaborate with product, engineering, and platform partners to move ideas from research to production at scale.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of experience in machine learning and Generative AI.
• 2+ years leading technical teams with hands-on contribution to decisions and implementation.
• Expertise in LLMs, multimodal models, NLP, agents, post-training, reinforcement learning, or learning from feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team delivering end-to-end Generative AI capabilities and products, from research through production deployment.
• Set the technical direction for the team and work hands-on across model quality, latency, cost, reliability, and maintainability.
• Turn research and prototypes into scalable production systems with pragmatic decisions on deployment and serving.
• Build systems for model training, evaluation, deployment, serving, and continuous improvement using feedback.
• Partner with product, engineering, research, and AI platform teams to deliver AI capabilities that create value for customers.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a strong technical team with a culture of rigor, collaboration, and end-to-end ownership.
