Job summary

Edison Smart® is seeking an AI Data Engineer in the Netherlands for a 12-month contract. You will blend data engineering, ML, and GenAI to deliver customer-focused insights and actions. Collaboration with marketing and product teams is essential to translate technical work into business value.

The role involves building a centralized data warehouse, ML models for churn and segmentation, and GenAI-enabled tools to personalize the trading experience for customers across channels.

Qualifications

• Proficient in SQL with large, messy datasets spanning customer journeys, product usage and marketing metrics.
• Strong Python for building pipelines, automations and API integrations.
• End-to-end ML delivery in Python, from model development to production deployment.
• Experience turning customer insights into strategies that drive engagement and lifetime value.
• Hands-on experience building LLM applications (e.g., summarising data) and knowledge of GenAI use cases.
• Exposure to ETL tools and cloud platforms (dbt, AWS Glue, AWS SageMaker).

Responsibilities

• Build a centralized data warehouse and well-structured datasets for multiple teams focusing on retention and LTV reporting.
• Develop and own ML models for churn prediction, customer segmentation and personalisation; enable marketing to use them across channels.
• Create GenAI tools to simplify trading and tailor experiences to customer preferences.
• Write Python pipelines and automations that connect internal databases, marketing platforms and third-party APIs.
• Identify opportunities to apply data and AI to lift engagement or automate manual work across the business.
