Job summary

Alibaba Cloud in Amsterdam seeks an experienced Business Development Manager to drive MaaS and AI solutions growth across the DACH and broader European markets. You will engage AI Native companies, startups, and enterprises, building a robust pipeline and delivering compelling AI demonstrations and proposals.

You will collaborate with solution architects, close deals, and provide market feedback to influence product localization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in business development, sales or partnerships within cloud computing, AI/ML, or enterprise software industries.
• Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, including LLMs, generative AI, and model training/inference workflows.
• Existing network within the AI startup ecosystem or enterprise AI community is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Dutch or German fluency is essential.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Bachelor or Master degree preferred.
• Well-connected in AI/startup scenes in NL, DE, CH and PL.

Responsibilities

• Identify and engage AI Native companies, startups, research institutions, and enterprises pursuing AI transformation in DACH and Europe.
• Drive revenue growth for MaaS offerings including Qwen (Tongyi) model family, PAI platform, and GPU computing services.
• Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for AI/ML products tailored to Europe.
• Build a robust sales pipeline through prospecting, events, partnerships and referrals.
• Collaborate with solution architects and technical teams to deliver customized proposals and demos.
• Negotiate and close deals, managing full sales cycle from lead to contract signing.
• Gather market intelligence to inform product roadmap and localization efforts.
• Represent Alibaba Cloud at AI conferences, meetups, and industry forums across Europe.

This role focuses on AI Native companies, including startups, scale-ups, and enterprises adopting generative AI technologies. You will be at the forefront of Alibaba Cloud's AI expansion in Europe, working with cutting‑edge large language models and machine learning platforms.

Responsibilities:

• Identify, engage, and develop relationships with AI Native companies, AI startups, research institutions, and enterprises pursuing AI transformation in DACH and broader European markets
• Drive revenue growth for Alibaba Cloud's MaaS offerings, including Qwen (Tongyi) model family, PAI platform, and GPU computing services
• Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies for AI/ML products tailored to the European market
• Build a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, industry events, ecosystem partnerships, and referral networks
• Collaborate with solution architects and technical teams to deliver customized proposals and product demonstrations
• Negotiate and close deals, managing the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing
• Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to inform product roadmap and localization efforts

• Tech savvy individual able to build solution scenarios based on customer requirements and technology services of AliCloud
• Sales driven - ability from identifying opportunities, qualifying and closing deals

Qualifications Preferred:

• Experience selling to technical buyers (CTOs, ML engineers, data scientists)
• Familiarity with competitive cloud AI offerings (AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, GCP Vertex AI)
• Background in a hyper‑growth startup or major cloud provider
• Additional European languages (French, Polish) are a plus
