Job summary

Glovis Europe is expanding and seeking a seasoned Finished Vehicle Logistics BeNeLux Operations Leader for our new Amsterdam location. You will manage day-to-day operations in a dynamic port setting, drive performance, and coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal teams to deliver high-quality logistics solutions.

You will lead the operations team, drive improvements, and ensure accurate shipping and customs documentation. Dutch and English fluency is required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• HBO / higher vocational education in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in FVL and management.
• Fluent in Dutch and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the operations team; set priorities and monitor KPIs.
• Plan and coordinate daily operations, including vehicle movements, planning and shipping activities.
• Coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal teams; ensure accurate shipping and customs documentation.
• Analyse performance and implement practical process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.

Your mission

You will lead the Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) BeNeLux Operations Team and play a key role in the successful set up and operation in our new location in Amsterdam. Located at a new port facility, you will take responsibility for managing and optimising daily operations in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

In this leading role, you will ensure smooth operational execution, drive performance, and coordinate with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver high-quality logistics solutions. You will combine operational expertise with strong leadership to manage challenges, improve processes, and support the continued success of our Amsterdam operations.

Your Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and develop the operations team.
• Set priorities, manage resources, and monitor KPIs.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Foster a positive, collaborative culture and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage operational risks and resolve escalations.

Operations & Planning

• Plan and coordinate daily operations to ensure efficient, high-quality service.
• Coordinate vehicle movements, workshop capacity, transport planning, and shipping activities.
• Monitor daily operations, including vehicle status, load planning, and gate-out performance.
• Ensure accurate and timely shipping and customs documentation.
• Act as the main point of contact for operational and customer service enquiries.

Customer & Supplier Management

• Handle urgent customer requests and changing operational priorities.
• Maintain clear communication with carriers, terminals, and logistics partners.
• Secure transport capacity through contracted suppliers or alternative solutions.
• Monitor supplier performance and manage service issues when required.

Continuous Improvement

• Analyse operational performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Implement practical process improvements to increase efficiency and service quality.
• Follow up on operational issues through to successful resolution.

Your profile

• HBO / Hoger Beroepsonderwijs or equivalent higher vocational education in a relevant field
• Fluent in Dutch and English both written and spoken
• Germany fluency desired but not mandatory
• 5+ year of experience in FVL and management
