Mlab B.V. is seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to evaluate electronic control systems for batteries, appliances and related products.

You will advise clients throughout the development process and work on multiple projects independently, often on-site at client locations. You will collaborate with a small team of colleagues specialized in functional safety, battery testing and CE marking, and you will discuss hardware and software details with clients using the V-model.

Formación

• Minimum HBO+/MBO+ level education.
• Ability to read electronic schematics and basic knowledge of C/C++.
• Independent, meticulous, and strong communication skills.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.

Responsabilidades

As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will evaluate electronic control systems for various applications, such as battery packs and household appliances. You will interact frequently with your clients and serve in an advisory role throughout the development process. It is a varied role in which you will work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

Who are your colleagues?

Mlab is a young company that primarily focuses on testing and evaluating lithium-ion batteries, electronic products, and household appliances. These range from small to large-scale applications, from electric bicycles to mobile energy storage systems housed in shipping containers. You’ll be working with seven colleagues who specialize in functional safety, battery testing, EMC testing, and CE marking. We play an advisory role during product design and guide clients through the certification process at testing laboratories.

What kind of tests do you perform?

• Conduct product and document reviews via Teams meetings or on-site at the client’s location;
• Work with the client to perform risk analyses and assess the consequences and likelihood of component failures;
• Discuss hardware schematics, software specifications, software code, and test cases using the V-model;
• Prepare reports detailing the results.

What we expect from you

• Minimum MBO+ (HBO level of thinking and working);
• You can read electronic schematics and have a basic knowledge of C/C++;
• You are independent, meticulous, and have strong communication skills;
• You have a good command of Dutch and English.
