Job summary

Withthegrid is hiring a Full Stack Engineer to join the Teleport cloud team in Utrecht and help accelerate the energy transition. You will build features across frontend and backend using Typescript, Vue.js, Node, Kafka, and Valkey, while collaborating with commercial and operations teams.

You’ll scale Teleport to thousands of devices, fix issues, and shape architecture for reliability and performance, within a hybrid work setup that blends office days in Utrecht with remote options.

Withthegrid is a rapidly growing European scale-up in the cleantech sector. We assist grid operators and renewable energy producers in managing their infrastructure more intelligently and efficiently.

Our Asset Monitoring Platform (AMP) provides real-time insights into the condition of networks through IoT technology. This enables our clients to monitor their assets more efficiently, resolve faults faster, and plan maintenance more effectively.

Our Teleport team focuses on increasing flexibility in the electricity grid. With our Teleport Gateway, owners of renewable energy sources and batteries can smartly control their assets and better respond to fluctuations in supply and demand. This helps both grid operators and energy producers accelerate the energy transition.

Your position as Full-Stack Engineer

As a Full Stack Engineer in the cloud team of Withthegrid, you will focus on developing the Teleport cloud, which is the crucial link between the Teleport and our customers. It contains a public REST API, several integrations for forwarding data, monitoring for ourteleportdevices, and we provide the web interface that allows clients to configure and manage their own teleports directly.

Collaboration will be a key aspect of your role. You’ll collaborate closely with our Commercial team, Head of Operations, and fellow engineers. This cross-functional setting gives you the chance to flex your problem-solving muscles, bring your ideas to life, and contribute directly to accelerating the energy transition.

How does this role contribute to the success of the company?

• On thebackend/cloudside, you ensure that messages and data from devices arescalable, reliable, and securely handledwithin our infrastructure.
• On thefrontend, you empower our clients and team members by building intuitive tools that allow them toconfigure and manage teleports, improving their experience and operational efficiency.

What you'll do

• Build new features. You’ll use a range of technologies to build them; our frontend & backend uses Typescript, Vue.js, Vuetify, Node, Kafka and Valkey. And we have an extensive range of data forwarding solutions, therefore there is always something new to learn!
• Fix bugs. You’ll prevent them as much as possible, but if they pop-up, you’ll dive into them to analyze what is going on and create fixes for them.
• Scale up existing solutions. Together with the team, you’ll research and implement architecture and software patterns, so that Teleport can scale up to several hundred thousands of devices in the field.

• Great communicator.You’re confident in both written and spoken English (Dutch is a bonus), and comfortable working across teams and with customers.
