Job summary

Yuki in Rotterdam is seeking an experienced Frontend Lead to unify our frontend stack around Vue 3, raise architectural standards, and elevate user experience.

You will lead a 6–7 person engineering team, set technical direction, own the development environment, and guide cost-conscious decisions while embracing AI-assisted tools.

Fluent English, 7+ years frontend, and SaaS experience preferred; you’ll thrive in our international, hybrid, growth-oriented culture with strong training opportunities.

Qualifications

• 7+ years frontend experience with at least 2 years in a lead role.
• Deep expertise in Vue 3 and TypeScript, plus architecture, design systems and code‑management skills.
• Real AI fluency and experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor).
• Fluent English in professional settings, with clear direction and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Set the direction to consolidate onto Vue 3 and define the architecture, patterns, and design system for the frontend.
• Own the environment for the chosen stack and champion SOLID, clean code, and testability.
• Lead and mentor a mixed-seniority team of 6–7 engineers, ensuring high-quality delivery.
• Weigh technical cost and benefits to aid management decisions with clear reasoning.

Your Role at Yuki

As our Frontend Lead, your mission is to organise and unify our frontend efforts: leading the consolidation of our stack onto Vue 3 as our standard, raising the bar on architecture and UX, and bringing a team of talented engineers along with you.

Today our frontend lives across multiple teams on a mix of technologies. You'll set the technical direction, own the environment for our chosen stack, and help the wider organisation make better, cost-aware technology decisions. You'll lead a team of 6 to 7 engineers of mixed seniority and backgrounds, guiding and mentoring them.

• Set the direction: Lead the consolidation onto Vue 3 and define the architecture, patterns, and design system the whole frontend builds on.


• Own the standard: Maintain and evolve the environment for our chosen stack, and champion SOLID principles, clean code, and testability across the team.


• Guide the trade-offs: Weigh technical cost and benefit, and help management make better technical decisions with clear, well-presented reasoning.


• Lead the team: Coach and align a mixed-seniority team, spot bad practices before they spread, and turn past mistakes into better ways of working.


• Build with AI: Set the standard AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Cursor) across the frontend team.

Job Requirements

• 7+ years of frontend experience, including at least 2 years in a lead role with a track record of presenting and delivering projects.


• Deep expertise in Vue (ideally Vue 3) and TypeScript, with strong architecture, code‑management, and design-system skills.


• Real AI fluency and experience with AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor).


• You speak about success in terms of “we,” give clear direction, and can spot bad architecture, hard‑to‑test code, and poor separation of concerns, then fix them.


• Ideally, you have a SaaS experience in a mid-size company.


• Fluent English is a must.
