Job summary

Cleeng seeks an Engineering Manager, Frontend (Maternity Cover) in a hybrid setup with teams across Amsterdam HQ and international offices. You will lead hands-on frontend work in React/TypeScript and shape engineering standards in a fast-growing SaaS company serving clients worldwide.

You’ll stay involved in tickets from start to production, own the agent harness configuration, and drive documentation, tests, and tooling improvements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production frontend apps with React and TypeScript.
• Experience with Node.js and REST API design.
• Automated testing with Playwright and Jest.
• Technical leadership without a formal manager title.
• Strong written English (C1) and autonomous, remote-friendly work.

Responsibilities

• Ship code yourself in React and TypeScript on tickets.
• Own the frontend agent harness — configuration, hooks, and permissions.
• Raise the team’s capability with better docs, tests, and tooling.
• Ensure correctness, design quality, and security in merges.
• Own frontend sprint commitments and delivery trade-offs.
• Lead the group with 1:1s, standups, unblock blockers.
• Launch with dashboards and alerts; monitor operational health.
• Handover from Lead Frontend Engineer before leave.
