Job summary

Michael Page is partnering with a global logistics client in Hoofddorp seeking an experienced Air Freight Coordinator. The role covers end-to-end shipment handling, documentation, and cost-optimisation through carrier rate negotiations. Do you excel in fast-paced environments and maintain meticulous records?

The position requires 8+ years in the EU for VGB eligibility, strong English, and willingness to work in three shifts. A 7-month direct contract and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Strong documentation and regulatory knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage air freight shipments from start to finish.
• Gather and prepare all required shipment and export documentation.
• Maintain accurate shipment status updates and detailed administrative records.
• Book shipments with airlines and negotiate carrier rates to optimise costs.
• Communicate clearly with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Provide proactive customer updates and report issues immediately.
• Identify and resolve problems with strong attention to detail.
• Take initiative to improve processes and develop new working methods.
• Work in a customer- and service-oriented manner at all times.
• Collaborate effectively within the team, considering different interests and impacts of decisions.

You Bring This Experience

• The ability to obtain a VGB-document (8+ years in the EU).
• Proven experience with airfreight.
• Proficient in English, Dutch is a bonus.
• Careful and accurate.
• Able to handle stress.
• Willingness to work in three shifts: 6:00-14:00, 14:00-22:00 and 22:00-6:00
• 6 working days followed by 4 days off.

• Salary up to €4.000 per month excluding bonus.
