Job summary

Mediahuis is seeking a Freelance Delivery & Operations Lead to be the operational heartbeat of a cross-functional team delivering B2C platforms. You’ll coordinate day-to-day delivery, manage dependencies and ensure predictable execution.

Based in Belgium or the Netherlands, with Antwerp or Amsterdam as main locations, the role requires traveling between sites when needed and collaborating with product owners, analysts and engineers.

• Understanding of software delivery and operational processes

Responsibilities

• Coordinating day-to-day delivery of the team’s roadmap and initiatives, including planning, refinement, prioritisation and release activities
• Tracking progress, risks and dependencies and ensuring transparency on delivery status, milestones and outcomes
• Coordinating operational activities across the product landscape and supporting incident, problem and change management
• Monitoring operational performance and driving continuous improvements in ways of working, tooling and team effectiveness
• Acting as a central coordination point for the team, supporting capacity planning, workload management and removal of delivery impediments
• Facilitating collaboration between Engineers, Business Analysts, Architects and other stakeholders
• Working closely with Product Owners, Solution Owners, business stakeholders, and together with the Solution Owner acting as a first entry point for business demand
• Preparing recommendations and decision-making for the Solution Owner and communicating progress, risks and dependencies in a clear and structured way

Your impact.

As Freelance Delivery & Operations Lead, you’ll be the operational heartbeat of the team. Working closely with the Manager & Solution Owner, Business Analyst, Developers and Engineers, you’ll turn priorities into execution, manage dependencies and make sure delivery remains predictable and effective.

This isn’t a traditional Project Manager or Scrum Master position. You’ll combine delivery excellence, operational oversight and stakeholder coordination to help the team achieve its objectives.

Your role includes.

This is a freelance assignment with a hybrid way of working. You can be based in Belgium or the Netherlands, with Antwerp or Amsterdam as your main Mediahuis location. Given the international scope of the team, we expect you to be flexible and willing to work from and travel between the different Mediahuis locations when needed.

What makes you a great fit?

What’s on your CV, is important but is by no means the only thing we attach importance to. You have proven experience in delivery, project management, product operations or service management within a technology environment. You understand software delivery and operational processes and feel comfortable coordinating multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously.

You’re organised, pragmatic and communicative, with a structured and data-driven approach to decision-making. You identify risks early, proactively work towards solutions and focus on outcomes rather than processes for process’ sake.

As you’ll collaborate across our Belgian and Dutch organisation, a strong command of both Dutch and English is important. You feel comfortable communicating with different colleagues and stakeholders in both languages.

Experience with subscription-based businesses, digital products, media organisations or customer-facing platforms is a plus. Familiarity with Agile delivery practices and experience with platform transitions or transformation programmes would also be valuable.
