Job summary

DSV in Moerdijk is seeking a Freight Forwarder to coordinate road, sea and air transports and act as the link between customers, carriers and internal teams. You will optimize planning, manage documentation and keep stakeholders updated in Dutch and English.

The role offers growth with a global logistics leader and a dynamic, collaborative team. You bring focus, accuracy and a proactive approach to problem solving, plus Dutch and English language skills; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as freight forwarder, shipping agent, planner, logistics coordinator, or similar role.
• Bachelor’s degree HBO level is considered for applicants with no work experience.
• Keen eye for detail and creative problem solving are required.
• Ability to work independently with accuracy and organization.
• Good command of Dutch and English; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage order administration: collect, process, verify data, ensure complete registration.
• Set up, book and plan transports; source capacity; negotiate rates within guidelines.
• Document and report: cost calculations, transport documents, weekly/monthly/quarterly reports.
• Keep customers, carriers and colleagues informed about transport status, delays and changes in Dutch and English.

From our brand new logistics park in Moerdijk, you will help build our freight management operations. Whether it concerns pallets or parcels, we deliver worldwide. Fast, smart, and sustainable. And the best part is; You’re on it.

How you do this? In this freight forwarder role, you manage and optimize the transport and planning process by road, sea, and air. You are the key link between customer service, carriers, and clients. You actively contribute to efficient processes and satisfied customers. Here, you can fully apply and further develop your logistics expertise. You achieve this by:

• managing our order administration, you collect, process, and verify internal and external data to ensure accurate and complete order registration. You quickly identify issues with shipping documentation and proactively come up with solutions;
• setting up, booking, and planning transports, you organize various shipments, source available capacity, negotiate rates within established guidelines, and ensure a smart, efficient daily schedule;
• documenting and reporting, this includes preparing cost calculations, transport documents (e.g., CMRs, transport files), and regular operational reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly);
• ensuring that customers, carriers, and colleagues are always informed about transport status, delays, and changes, in both Dutch and English.

You bring

• work experience as a freight forwarder, shipping agent, planner, logistics coordinator, or a similar role;
• no work experience but recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree (HBO level)? You are also invited to apply, we will teach you everything you need to know;
• a keen eye for detail and a creative approach to solving operational challenges;
• the ability to work independently, with strong accuracy and organisational skills in managing your own tasks;
• a good command of Dutch and English, German is a plus.
