Anove International B.V. in Utrecht is seeking a Forward Engineer to design, develop, and maintain assurance technology that streamlines risk, compliance, and information management workflows.

You will translate client problems into technical requirements and show how our platform solves them, working hybrid with the option to work from home part of the week. 0-3 years in a customer-facing tech role is welcome.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a technical field with appetite for technology.
• 0 to 3 years in a customer-facing role in consulting, compliance, or solutions.
• Comfortable with APIs and data formats (JSON, CSV/Excel) and scripting basics.
• Interest in cybersecurity, risk and compliance, with a commercial mindset.
• Fluent English and working knowledge of Dutch; strong client communication.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and security teams to define technical requirements.
• Implement and test new features, improve system performance and reliability.
• Integrate external data sources, including explain-ai.com data.
• Document solutions and contribute to scalable, secure architecture.
• Participate in code reviews and support issue resolution.
• Explore new technologies in digital security and compliance.

Anove is a digital security company with a legacy dating back to 1996, focused on pioneering technology for digital assurance. We support customers facing fragmented information across tools and systems, complex risk management processes, and demanding compliance requirements. By delivering trusted assurance technology, Anove helps businesses navigate digital security and compliance with clarity and confidence.

Anove also manages explain-ai.com, a public repository that ranks AI models based on publicly available information about applications, models, and vendors.

Role Description

This is a full-time, hybrid Forward Engineer role based in Utrecht, with the option to work from home part of the week. As a Forward Engineer, you design, develop, and maintain assurance technology solutions that streamline risk, compliance, and information management workflows.

You work at the intersection of technology and clients: you understand their problems, translate them into technical requirements, and show them how our platform solves them.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product and security teams to define technical requirements.
• Implement and test new features, and improve system performance and reliability.
• Integrate external data sources, including AI model information from explain-ai.com.
• Document technical solutions and contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability and security.
• Participate in code reviews and support issue resolution.
• Continuously explore new technologies relevant to digital security and compliance.

Qualifications

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Development, Networking, Information Security, or a related field. A background in Law, Compliance, or Business is also welcome if you have a clear appetite for technology and want to build your technical skills.
• 0 to 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role in consulting, compliance, implementation, or solutions engineering.
• Comfortable with (or eager to learn) APIs, data formats (JSON, CSV/Excel), and basic scripting in Python or TypeScript.
• Interest in cybersecurity, risk, and compliance.
• A commercial mindset: you enjoy talking with clients, understanding their problems, and showing them how technology solves them. You love helping people become more efficient and better, and you are not afraid to challenge the status quo.
• Fluent in English, with a working knowledge of Dutch.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Experience at a SaaS or tech startup.
• Hands-on use of AI tools, LLMs, or MCP (Model Context Protocol).
• Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27001, DORA, NIS2, or the EU AI Act.
• French or German language skills.

We offer a gross monthly salary between €3,200 and €4,500, depending on experience and profile, plus 8% holiday allowance and 25 days of paid vacation per year.
