Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing is seeking a forklift operator to support Plant 4 in Holland, MI. You will safely operate HiLo forklift, move pallets, unload stacks, and assist in maintaining inventory accuracy across shifts.

Key responsibilities include adhering to safety procedures, following instructions, and participating in continuous improvement activities. The role requires 1 month of material handling experience and the ability to work up to 12 hours/day, including weekends.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, speak English proficiently to follow instructions.
• One month related experience or training; or equivalent education.
• Previous material handling work experience preferred.
• Previous HiLo driving experience preferred.
• Must be able to work full time, up to 12 hours/day including weekends.
• Strong organizational skills and safety awareness.
• Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.

Responsibilities

• Observe and comply with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements associated with this job description.
• Participate in needs analysis and attend scheduled training and programs for this position.
• Support continuous improvement activities through auditing and process reviews.
• Stop work on processes as appropriate to contain suspect or defective material or services.
• Move levers and pedals to drive truck and control lifting devices.
• Position forks and loads under, over, or around pallets and transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload and stack material, inventory on the work floor, and supply workers with materials.
• Maintain load accuracy and assist with counts and reporting.
