Job summary

NEO is seeking a Financial Specialist to ensure accurate and timely financial records, manage daily transactions, and support reporting, audits and compliance. You will liaise with project managers across the organisation.

You will monitor financial health, participate in audits, and ensure compliance with procedures. Fluency in Dutch and English, plus AFAS experience, are essential for success in a dynamic, growing company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years' experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Experience in financial accounting, reconciliations and reporting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Accurate, organised and proactive.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Experience with ERP or financial systems (AFAS).
• Affinity with a dynamic, growing organisation.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Experience with a project organisation.
• Experience with grants is a big plus.

Responsibilities

• Process, control and record daily financial transactions.
• Manage and maintain general ledger and financial records.
• Responsible for accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Monitor outstanding payments, invoices and payment deadlines.
• Perform bank, cash and general ledger reconciliations.
• Preparation of journal entries, accruals and period endings.
• Preparation of financial reports, statements and analyses.
• Monitor budgets and identify deviations.
• Support audits and financial controls.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal procedures and compliance requirements.
• Maintain structured and auditable financial records.
