Job summary

AHEAD, a Netherlands-based platform builder, seeks a Financial Controller to own the Netherlands finance function as part of its European expansion. You will lead day-to-day finance operations, strengthen controls, manage budgeting and reporting, and help transition to global finance systems while building a scalable finance function.

The role offers hands-on leadership with potential to grow a local team over 12–18 months, requiring strong Dutch regulatory knowledge and excellent English

Qualifications

• Qualified accounting professional or equivalent experience in growing or international business.
• Broad hands-on finance experience with month-end close, reporting, and control.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and audit prep.
• Experience improving finance processes and supporting systems changes.
• Strong understanding of Dutch accounting, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Payroll, pension and employee expenses management experience.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day Netherlands finance function and collaborate with global finance.
• Lead month-end close, journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, reporting.
• Prepare management accounts, variance analysis, cash flow reporting.
• Support budgets, forecasts and reforecasts; ensure robust controls.
• Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and finance administration.
• Support audits, regulatory compliance, and transition to global systems.
• Develop scalable processes and potentially grow local finance team.
