Job summary

JDE Peet’s seeks an IHQ Financial Controller based in the Netherlands to own the financial controlling and reporting for a defined set of international entities. You will actively manage month-end close, balance sheet control and internal controls, partnering with stakeholders across the organization.

You will contribute to major finance transformations, including SAP S/4HANA, SOX compliance and US GAAP reporting within a global accounting & reporting function.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years of experience in financial accounting or controlling.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and month-end close processes (US GAAP exposure is a plus).
• Experience in an international or complex organization.
• SAP experience or the ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as the end-to-end accountable financial controller for a defined portfolio of IHQ holding entities.
• Deliver accurate month-end close and reporting, including journals, accruals, intercompany transactions and central cost allocations.
• Prepare account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews and internal control documentation.
• Support external audits and collaborate with Accounting & Reporting, Tax, Treasury and Business Control teams.
• Own and continuously improve selected IHQ financial processes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency.
• Assess and support changes in accounting standards, policies and ways of working for assigned entities and accounting topics.

As an IHQ Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting for International Headquarters entities. Working closely with the Financial Control Manager, you will independently own the financial controlling and reporting responsibilities for a defined set of International Headquarters legal entities and accounting topics. You will be hands‑on in the month‑end close, balance sheet control and internal controls, acting as a trusted financial partner to stakeholders across the organization. This role contributes to major finance transformations, including the transition of transactional activities to Global Business Services, SAP S/4HANA, SOX compliance and US GAAP reporting. The position is based in the Netherlands and sits within the Global Accounting & Reporting function.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the end-to-end accountable financial controller for a defined portfolio of IHQ holding entities, serving as the primary point of contact for all controlling and reporting matters
• Deliver accurate month‑end close and reporting, including journals, accruals, intercompany transactions and central cost allocations
• Prepare account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews and internal control documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Support external audits and collaborate closely with Accounting & Reporting, Tax, Treasury and Business Control teams
• Own and continuously improve selected IHQ financial processes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency
• Assess and support the implementation of changes in accounting standards, policies and ways of working for assigned entities and accounting topics, operating within a matrix‑controlled environment with escalation and overall supervision provided by the Financial Control Manager

• A relevant academic background in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
• 4 - 8 years of experience in financial accounting or controlling
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and month‑end close processes (US GAAP exposure is a plus)
• Experience working in an international or complex organization
• SAP experience or the ability to quickly learn new systems
• A proactive, detail‑oriented mindset with strong communication skills
