Job summary

Ahold Delhaize is seeking a Financial Controller to strengthen our financial reporting, compliance, and analytical support across Commerce, Operations, Real Estate and Tax controlling tasks.

You will implement local policies in line with EU standards, oversee monthly close, prepare journal entries, review variances, and drive standardization and automation of reporting in a hybrid work setup with flexible hours and a home-office balance.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 4 years in financial controlling or similar roles.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Excellent knowledge of English and MS Office.

Your new team

As a Financial Controller, you will be joining our Financial team dealing with Commerce, Operations, Real Estate and Tax controlling tasks.

Key focus areas of your role

• Contributes to the development of Ahold Delhaize reporting and financial controlling policies
• Ensures alignment of EU policies, procedures, and accounting regulations with local requirements in day-to-day operations and during projects.
• Implements reporting and financial controlling policies locally, in compliance with local requirements.
• Ensures compliance with, and updates to, accounting policies, procedures, and regulations in accordance with changes in local laws and regulatory requirements.
• Plans, prepares, executes, and oversees the monthly reporting process to ensure accurate and complete financial data.
• Consolidates reports and data analyses across different organizational levels.
• Ensures the application of financial reporting standards, policies, and procedures.
• Communicates with and advises business stakeholders on reporting-related matters in accordance with established procedures and deadlines.
• Uploads reporting packages, including the complete reporting package and IRP, into the EPM system.
• Prepares, analyzes, and signs off on the accounts for which they are responsible, with a strong focus on accuracy and completeness.
• Reviews and identifies errors, appropriately addresses findings, and posts necessary corrections in the accounting records.
• Prepares and approves non-standard journal entries.
• Prepares analyses related to financial results, business developments, and explanations of variances.
• Standardizes and automates financial reporting policies, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with Group policies and procedures

• At least VI, VII level of education in Economics or a similar field
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent knowledge of English and MS office
• At least 4 years of experience in financial controlling or similar roles
• Previous work in audit industry is a plus
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
