Job summary

Huxley is seeking an enthusiastic Financial Controller to lead and develop the EMEA accounting team of 10–15 regional entities. You will oversee general ledger, ensure compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP, and drive standardisation and automation across finance processes.

You will partner with global and regional accounting teams, manage outsourced providers, and support audits, tax planning, and cross-functional projects.

Qualifications

  • University degree (Accounting, Business, Economics).
  • Postgraduate qualification (RA/CPA).
  • 6–8 years' experience in finance/accounting (Big4 or multinational preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and SOX.
  • Experience managing teams and coaching staff.
  • Fluent English.
  • Experience with financial systems (SAP preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership and responsibility of the accounting for EMEA regional entities, in accordance with US GAAP, local GAAP and compliance with both internal and external requirements.
  • Cooperate closely with the other Accounting teams, Accounts Payable and Payroll teams to optimise processes and ensure alignment with global policies and procedures.
  • Manage relationships and performance of outsourced accounting providers in various countries.
  • Help lead the closing process for the EMEA regional entities.
  • Ensure numbers are correctly reported and perform analysis to understand and explain results.
  • Sign off on the regular and timely preparation of financial reports and schedules.
  • Prepare and sign off on quality and integrity of Balance sheet and profit and loss; monthly closing reports and reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Ensure adherence to SOX, tax, statutory and statistical filings and audits.
  • Support strategic goals in line with Global Accounting roadmap and finance priorities.
  • Act as main contact for external accounting firms for audits, tax and accounting matters.
  • Liaise with internal audit on regional operations and accounting inquiries.
  • Identify and drive process improvements impacting daily accounting and finance activities.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects across finance.
  • Support regional tax planning and compliance.
  • Work closely with the Global Tax team in Amsterdam.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, P2P, Financial Systems, Risk & Controls teams.
  • Assess performance, provide feedback, and manage workload of the EMEA Accounting team.

Job Summary

For the EMEA accounting team, we are looking for an enthusiastic Financial Controller who is eager to develop him or herself and who is able to manage a team and take responsibility for the correct accounting of our 50+ EMEA regional entities. You will help lead the general ledger accounting team in EMEA, overseeing approximately 10–15, and report into the EMEA Senior Controller. You will be part of the Global Accounting Organisation and work with the Corporate and Regional accounting teams and various other stakeholders in finance and business. You will be responsible for supporting the operations and development of the EMEA accounting team with a focus on standardisation and efficiency, continuous improvement and automation, and quality. You will also support the local management team in all finance and compliance related matters. Strong communication, people leadership, accounting and analysis skills are essential. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and challenge yourself to take on additional projects and responsibilities as they present themselves.

Tasks & Responsibilities
Operations
