Job summary

EMEA Recruitment is assisting a client in the agriculture sector to recruit a Financial Controller. You will lead month-end closes and provide insightful management reporting, while driving improvements in inventory valuation and Odoo-based finance processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, with proven ability to independently run month-end closes.
• Experience with inventory accounting, cost price calculation, ERP systems (Odoo highly preferred), and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and Dutch VAT regulations (IFRS and ACCA/RA/CPA qualification are a plus).
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with experience in a production, manufacturing, or FMCG environment highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly and annual close processes, ensuring general ledger accuracy, balance sheet reconciliations, and compliance with financial guidelines.
• Deliver monthly management reporting, financial analyses, cash flow forecasts, and KPI insights to department managers.
• Manage inventory valuation, cost price accounting, production variance analysis, and periodic stock counts.
• Drive process improvements, internal controls, and automation within Odoo to professionalize finance operations.
• Support year-end financial statements, coordinate external audits, manage tax returns (VAT/payroll), and guide the Finance Assistant.

EMEA Recruitment is searching on behalf of our client, an agriculture scale-up, for a Financial Controller to join their team. The client operates within a pioneer sector, producing high-quality products with a strong focus on quality, safety, reliability, and compliance.

Due to ongoing growth and professionalization, the Financial Controller will play a crucial role in ensuring financial control, maintaining a reliable financial administration, and optimizing processes, reporting, and systems. Around 20% of the role will focus on process improvement, automation, and further developing the finance department within Odoo.
