Job summary

MSIG Specialty Marine in Rotterdam is seeking a finance/ accounting professional to help keep transactions accurate and drive process improvements across finance, underwriting, claims, and beyond.

In this role you’ll work with brokers and internal teams, support IFRS-compliant reporting, and contribute to automation initiatives. You’ll grow your career with a global marine insurer that values collaboration, development, and hands-on problem solving.

Qualifications

• Background in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
• Some experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Around 2+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Confidence working with systems, data, and automation.
• Proactive, problem-solving approach.

Responsibilities

• Keep things accurate and moving by processing and validating transactions.
• Analyse discrepancies and identify root causes for improvements.
• Collaborate with brokers and internal teams (Underwriting, Claims, Accounting).
• Support and advance automated financial processes and reporting.
• Ensure IFRS compliance and clear internal documentation.

Keep things accurate and moving

• Process financial transactions accurately and on time
• Review and validate automated entries (and step in when needed)
• Ensure everything is correct, complete, and up to date

Analyse, solve and improve

• Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues at the root
• Identify patterns and areas for improvement
• Turn insights into smarter, more efficient processes

Be at the centre of the action

• Work closely with brokers to ensure smooth data flow
• Partner with teams like Underwriting, Claims, and Accounting
• Act as a go-to contact for questions and problem-solving

Work with systems and automation

• Support and improve automated financial processes
• Troubleshoot issues and drive continuous improvement
• Help modernise how finance operates

Keep everyone informed

• Support reporting and highlight risks or improvement areas
• Ensure compliance with IFRS and internal standards

• Some experience in a finance or accounting role (this could be gained through internships, entry-level roles, or early career experience)
• Around 2+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
• Strong attention to detail

• A proactive, problem-solving approach
