Job summary

NIBC Bank is seeking a proactive Product Owner to maximize value delivered by the Accounting & Control IT delivery team. You translate business needs into roadmaps, epics, and backlogs, aligning finance and IT strategies while ensuring compliance with banking regulations.

You will collaborate with Business Owner, IT Manager Finance & Risk, Domain Architect, and transformation office to prioritize work, manage non-functional requirements, and contribute to the Product Owner Center of Expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in a leading Agile IT banking role.
• Experience with finance functions, products and systems in a banking environment.
• Experience with IT and ETL processes.
• Knowledge of IT-related banking regulations and standards.
• High initiative, ownership, and teamwork skills.
• Fluent written and verbal English; Dutch is a plus.
• Knowledge of SAFe is preferred; PSPO/PSPO-A is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Craft and maintain a product vision and roadmap for run and change activities.
• Manage and prioritize the Team Backlog and guide epics into the Team Backlog.
• Ensure the team works only on refined items and acts as a safeguard.
• Serve as sparring partner to ensure best practices in accounting systems and ETL processes.
• Collaborate with Business Owner, end users, Domain Architect, IT Manager, and Transformation Office to set priorities by value.
• Support delivery by maximizing value through tools and automated solutions; articulate backlog items clearly.
• Understand critical success factors for Accounting & Control within financial closures.
• Contribute to the Product Owner Center of Expertise and coordinate releases with dependencies.
