Job summary

PPHE Hotel Group invites applications for a Finance Intern to support the Hotel Business Control team across six hotels in the Netherlands. You will work with Hotel Business Controllers on financial analysis, reporting, cost control projects and operational finance activities to drive regional business decisions.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a finance/accounting or business-related degree, with strong Excel skills, fluent English, and willingness to travel between Amsterdam, Lijnden, Utrecht

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance/Accounting, Business Admin, or related field.
• Proactive, organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare analyses, reports and presentations under supervision of Hotel Business Controllers.
• Support recurring and ad hoc financial reporting activities.
• Assist with Rooms and F&B cost control across the Dutch portfolio.
• Contribute to process improvements in reporting quality and efficiency.
• Support month-end closing and procurement system administration (Fourth/Adaco).
• Collaborate with finance teams across multiple hotels in the Netherlands.

As a Finance Intern, you will support the Hotel Business Control team and gain exposure to both finance and accounting across PPHE Hotel Group's six hotels in the Netherlands. Working closely with Hotel Business Controllers, you will contribute to financial analysis, reporting, cost control projects, and operational finance activities, helping drive informed business decisions across the region.

Responsibilities

• Prepare business control analyses, reports, and presentations under the guidance of the Hotel Business Controllers
• Support recurring and ad hoc financial reporting activities
• Assist with projects relating to Rooms and Food & Beverage cost control across the Dutch portfolio
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and reporting quality
• Support income audit activities and revenue verification processes
• Assist with accounts payable and purchase-to-pay processes
• Assist with accounts receivable and order-to-cash processes
• Support month-end closing activities and ensure deadlines are achieved
• Assist with the administration and support of procurement systems, including Fourth and Adaco
• Follow up on purchasing and requisition queries and expedite issues where required
• Collaborate with finance teams and stakeholders across multiple hotel locations
• Gain exposure to commercial decision-making through financial analysis and business performance reviews

Essential Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Economics, or a related field
• Available for a minimum internship period of five months
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with an eagerness to develop advanced Excel capabilities
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• Flexible and willing to travel between our hotels in Amsterdam, Lijnden, Utrecht, and Eindhoven when required
• Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Interest in hospitality, finance, and business performance

Preferred Requirements

• Understanding of finance, accounting, or business control principles
• Experience working with Excel and financial data analysis
• Interest in hospitality industry trends, systems, and technology
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Dutch language skills are an advantage
• Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across different departments
