Job summary

Basic-Fit is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer for Finance to join the Data Platform Team. You will embed with Finance to understand workflows, while building end-to-end data solutions on our central Databricks platform. You will balance business needs with platform standards and govern data accordingly.

You’ll work on ingestion pipelines, data quality, and production deployments, collaborating with Finance and Data Platform teammates to deliver trusted data at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering.
• Strong SQL and Python skills with Databricks and Spark.
• Experience with financial data (SAP, ledgers, reconciliations).
• Experience building ingestion pipelines from business systems, APIs and files.
• Experience with data quality: validation and monitoring.
• Experience with CI/CD, version control and secure engineering practices.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders.
• Curiosity about the newest Databricks features for Finance.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ingest financial data from sources such as SAP into Databricks.
• Ensure data quality through validation, reconciliation and monitoring.
• Rebuild and modernise existing finance data solutions on Databricks.
• Model financial data for consistency, documentation and usability.
• Work with Finance to understand data usage and platform fit.
• Run solutions in production per engineering standards.
• Use AI to speed up engineering and documentation tasks.
