Job summary

Databricks is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work with customers on data & AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end-to-end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

This hands-on, customer-facing role builds production-grade solutions with a strong focus on customer impact. You will embed with client teams, guide architecture choices, and deliver accelerators and best practices to scale

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of two or more cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP) with expertise in at least one.
• Deep experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark.
• Familiarity with CI/CD for production deployments.
• Working knowledge of MLOps, ML/AI models and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment of production-grade end-to-end data architectures and apps.
• Experience delivering technical projects with scope, timelines and measurable outcomes.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience with enterprise clients and broad stakeholder management.
• Curiosity and adaptability to explore new technologies and Databricks solutions.
• Travel to customers 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification.

Responsibilities

• Production Solution Delivery: lead projects by delivering production-grade systems and reference architectures.
• Transformational Impact: guide customers through end-to-end design, build and deployment of big data and AI apps.
• Empower Customers: coach on architecture and design and drive adoption of Databricks.
• Own the Architecture: lead decisions for secure, scalable solutions aligned with customer needs.
• Collaborate with Databricks teams to ensure delivery meets customer requirements.
• Work with engineering and support to provide feedback and rapid issue resolution.
• Customer Immersion: embed with customer teams and stakeholders from ICs to executives.
• Produce reusable assets, accelerators, and best practices to scale impact.
