Job summary

Aegon Asset Management, a global investment firm, seeks a Financial Controller to lead accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and VAT processes in the Netherlands. You will interact with multiple locations and drive efficient month-end closings.

You will partner with HR and finance teams, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls, while maintaining compliance with Dutch tax rules. This role offers growth opportunities within AIM B.V.'s Finance function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with accounts payable, expense accounting and month-end close.
• Experience with VAT administration and financial reconciliations.
• Strong accounting knowledge and Dutch financial regulations.
• Fluent in English; Dutch preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and continuously improve accounts payable process, including invoice processing and payment execution.
• Act as the primary contact for internal stakeholders and suppliers regarding invoice/payments.
• Administer VAT processes and ensure compliance with Dutch regulations.
• Manage payroll accounting activities with HR.
• Manage accounts receivable, invoicing, collections and payment processing.
• Oversee day-to-day administration of AIM B.V. and related AAM entities and support closings.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and accruals.
• Participate in finance projects focused on process optimization and internal controls.
• Provide proactive financial support and effective challenge to the organization.
