Job summary

Mambu in Amsterdam is seeking a Finance Control Specialist for a fixed-term 1-year contract. You will manage the Financial Control team (1–2 FTEs) and report to the Group Head of Accounting, Reporting and Controls, formalising processes and safeguarding financial assets.

You will drive internal controls, automation, system implementations, and cross-functional collaboration with IT and finance. The role requires strong accounting knowledge, leadership experience, and fluency in English;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• ACCA or CIA certification is a plus.
• Experience leading teams in financial control, internal audit, or risk management.
• Min 3 years in Big4 or consulting in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and key financial processes.
• Experience with process improvements and finance systems administration.
• Advanced MS Excel skills; familiarity with ERP and finance software.
• Experience with NetSuite, Expensify, Floqast, FastFour is a plus.
• Strong project management and cross-functional leadership.
• Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop a team of 1-2 professionals located in different locations.
• Formalise and document internal financial processes and controls.
• Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
• Identify control gaps, assess risks, and make recommendations for enhancements.
• Drive process improvements and automation within the finance function.
• Lead or participate in system implementation projects and finance systems administration.
• Define and track KPIs and metrics; analyze data for monthly reporting.
• Support internal and external audits with documentation and walkthroughs.
• Lead change management and provide training for end-users.
• Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders on system upgrades.
