Job summary

Moog B.V. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support Flight Simulation and Automotive Test products at customer sites in Amsterdam.

The role involves hands-on mechanical work and electro-mechanical systems with significant software components, requiring willingness to travel up to 80% and occasional extended hours. You will diagnose complex problems, provide customer-centric support, and maintain configuration control for the global installed base, reporting to the Manager Aftermarket

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to diagnose (complex) technical problems and implement solutions.
  • Experience with software tools, service applications and configuration databases.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Planning and organizing skills for global installed base support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Flight Simulation and Automotive Test products.
  • Perform maintenance and overhauls; hands-on mechanical work.
  • Service and support Moog products at customer sites.
  • Represent Moog with customers and identify opportunities.
  • Work under machine breakdown conditions and on extended hours when needed.

Job Overview

Moog B.V. is an engineering‑focused company passionate about offering high‑tech simulation and test technologies for the global aircraft, automotive and motion control application markets. Our Service department at Moog Nieuw Vennep is looking for a Field Service Engineer to support the Flight Simulation and Automotive Test products.

Responsibilities

The primary focus areas for the Field Service Engineer are the Flight Simulation and Automotive Test products. You will provide technical support for a broad range of Moog products and systems, including maintenance and overhauls. The role requires hands‑on mechanical work, servicing electro‑mechanical and electrohydraulic technologies, and working with mechatronic systems that contain a significant amount of software. You will represent Moog while visiting customers, providing customer‑centric support, fostering strong relationships, and identifying commercial opportunities. Due to the nature of the business, you must be able to work under machine breakdown conditions and provide incidental extended support hours.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or MBO with a minimum of 7 years of work experience) with a special interest in Measurement & Control or Automation.
  • Ability to diagnose (complex) technical problems and implement solutions, alone or with colleagues.
  • Experience working with software tools, service applications and configuration databases.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Planning and organizing skills to ensure proper support, documentation, and configuration control for the global installed base.
  • Can‑do mentality to support customers and exceed expectations, sometimes handling issues independently.
  • Ability to organize service structure to provide technical support and field service for multiple Moog products.
  • Participation in multi‑disciplinary problem solving and service development activities.
  • Understanding of market and technology trends in field service and the ability to initiate actions to improve and/or maintain a competitive edge.
  • Consensus‑seeking in the face of conflicting interests.
  • Demonstrated highly effective communication skills.
Reporting Line

The candidate will report directly to the Manager Aftermarket Services.

Special Circumstances
  • Travel is essential; up to approximately 80 % of the time, including weekends, with the possibility of extended stays.
  • Overtime, weekend and evening hours may be required to complete the job.
