ABN AMRO Clearing is seeking a Chapter Lead for frontend engineering to guide a chapter of engineers in Angular and TypeScript. The role combines hands-on delivery with people leadership, shaping frontend architecture and standards across squads.

You will define best practices, drive engineering maturity, and mentor engineers while delivering high-quality, scalable frontend solutions in a global, hybrid environment.

As aChapter Lead TypeScript / Angular, you are responsible forthe “how” within the frontend engineering capability—combiningpeople leadership, technical excellence, and standardisation of ways of working.

You will lead a chapter of highly skilled engineers and act as athought leader in Angular and TypeScript, while remaining hands‑on in engineering work.

This is ahybrid leadership role:

• ~70% contributing to engineering and delivery
• ~30% focused on coaching, people management, and chapter leadership

Your job

1. People Management & Chapter Leadership (Primary focus)

• Lead, coach, and develop a chapter of4–15 engineers(internal and external)

• TypeScript (frontend and potentially backend APIs)
• Frontend architecture, design systems, and usability

3. Way of Working & Standards

• Define and implementbest practices, frameworks, and development standardsacross the chapter
• Establishknowledge-sharing structures, communities of practice, and guilds
• Ensure alignment withglobal engineering standards and compliance requirements
• Drive continuous improvement inengineering maturity and developer experience

4. Workforce Planning & Talent Strategy

• Performstrategic workforce planningtogether with the Chapter Area Lead
• Identify skill gaps and definetraining and upskilling initiatives
• Actively contribute torecruitment (interviews, selection criteria, hiring decisions)
• Balance capacity, skills, and demand across squads and initiatives

5. Collaboration within the Product Grid

• Work closely withProduct Owners, Architects, and other Chapter Leads
• Contribute as anactive engineer in delivery squads
• Ensure thattechnical and non-functional requirementsare embedded in delivery
• Facilitate alignment acrossglobal teams and regions
