Job summary

Almaviva Group in The Hague region seeks a seasoned IT professional to lead and support large-scale application environments. The role emphasizes administration, deployment, incident handling and ongoing optimization across production and non-production systems.

The candidate will work with micro-services, Kubernetes, Docker, Elasticsearch and cloud services, delivering robust configuration management and scripting capabilities. The position is near-site in the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• Min 15 years of IT experience.
• At least 6 years in mid/large IT infrastructure environments including deployment, support and maintenance of applications.
• At least 5 years in application administration.
• At least 2 years with micro-services and container stacks (Docker/Kubernetes).
• At least 2 years administering and supporting Elasticsearch.
• At least 5 years with enterprise Microsoft or Linux servers.
• At least 2 years in Public or Hybrid Cloud (Azure or AWS).
• Good knowledge of Elasticsearch deployment and administration.
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker and Rancher.
• Good knowledge of configuration management (Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey).
• Good shell and/or PowerShell scripting.
• Good ITIL knowledge (incident/change/release).

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and administer applications in production and non-production environments.
• Monitor performance and continuously improve efficiency and service quality.
• Provide applications support and maintenance including incident, change, release and problem resolution.
• Write and validate procedures manuals including troubleshooting guides, backup and restore plans.
• Automate administrative tasks and document installation and support procedures.
• Contribute to structuring and maintaining the technical knowledgebase for ICT Operations.
• Report on application availability, performance, capacity and usage as required.

TASKS TO BE PERFORMED

• Application installation, configuration and administration in production and non-production environments;
• Application monitoring, performance tuning and continuous improvement of the efficiency and quality of service;
• Applications support and maintenance activities such as incident, change, release and problem resolution;
• Writing and validating application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup and restore plans;
• Automating administrative procedures for recurring system administration activities and provide installation and technical support documentation where required;
• Contributing to the structuring, maintenance and development of the technical knowledgebase supporting the ICT Operations activities;
• Eeporting on application availability, performance, capacity and overall usage where required.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Min 15 years of IT Experience
• A minimum of 6 years of experience working as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support and maintenance of applications.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working as an IT professional in the area of application administration
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks such as Docker or Kubernetes
• A minimum of 2 years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with Public or Hybrid Cloud services and solutions (AZURE or AWS).
• Good knowledge of the deployment and administration of Elasticsearch clusters
• Good knowledge of micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker and Rancher
• Good knowledge of configuration management concepts and technologies (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey)
• Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting
• Good knowledge of ITIL, including the incident, change and release management processes
