Job summary

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is seeking an Event Intern to support Smart Freight Week 2027. This hands-on role offers hybrid work in Amsterdam with exposure to a high-profile global event focused on decarbonization in logistics.

You will assist with registrations and on-site activities, coordinate with sponsors and venues, and help with post-event wrap-up under the guidance of the Event Manager. Ideal for proactive, organized, English-speaking students seeking real industry impact.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with participant registrations and pre-event setup on platforms like Salesforce and Hivebrite.
  • Coordinate with venue, speakers, and suppliers to ensure timely services and dietary needs.
  • Provide on-site support at registration, room setups for workshops, and general event assistance.
  • Contribute to post-event wrap-up, feedback collection, and final reporting.

Job description

Location: Netherlands (Hybrid work).

Compensation: 400 EUR/month.

Duration: 6 months - 40 hours/week.

About the position

You'll work closely with our Event Manager and support every stage of Smart Freight Week, from pre-event to during and post-event activities. From helping with registration to assisting on the event floor, this is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in making a high-profile international event run smoothly.

Responsibilities
  • Event preparation: Assist with setting up participant registrations using platforms like Salesforce and Hivebrite, ensuring attendee information is accurate and updated. You'll also help keep participants informed about the event agenda and support in securing sponsorships for the event.
  • Stakeholder and supplier coordination: Communicate with the venue, guest speakers, and suppliers, like catering, to ensure everything is organized, dietary needs are met, and food is served at the right times.
  • On-site support: During the event, you'll be welcoming attendees at the registration desk, assisting with room setups for workshops and conferences, and keeping everything running smoothly.
  • Post-event wrap-up: Help pack up equipment, gather feedback from attendees, and assist with final reports.

  • People person: You're fluent in English and love connecting with everyone: colleagues, attendees, suppliers, etc.
  • Organized: You can manage multiple tasks and keep everything on track.
  • Adaptable: You're flexible and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech enthusiast: Comfortable with MS Office? Great. Never used Salesforce or Flock Eventing Platform? No problem, we'll teach you.
  • Team player: You enjoy working with others and are always willing to help wherever needed.
