Job summary

Vanderlande seeks a Finance Team Lead Tax & Compliance Europe to lead the European tax and compliance team, ensuring robust tax governance and effective control frameworks across multiple countries.

You will drive continuous improvement, coordinate with Group Tax and local finance teams, and act as a primary contact for authorities and auditors. English fluency and leadership are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years in tax, tax compliance, or related finance function in an international environment.
• Experience leading, coaching, or coordinating a team.
• Knowledge of corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and general tax compliance requirements.
• Experience with tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors.
• Experience with process improvement and standardization initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset.
• Collaborative leader who combines technical expertise with a service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the Europe Tax & Compliance team.
• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution of tax compliance and reporting across Europe.
• Coordinate corporate income tax, VAT, withholding tax, and other relevant tax compliance activities with Group Tax and local Finance teams.
• Support transfer pricing compliance and documentation requirements.
• Act as key contact for tax authorities, auditors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders on tax matters.
• Identify and manage tax risks; escalate issues as needed.
• Translate changes in tax legislation into practical guidance for the business.
• Maintain and improve tax controls, documentation, and compliance processes.
• Drive standardization and process improvements across European tax activities.
• Identify recurring issues and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support business projects with practical tax advice.
• Contribute to finance transformation, compliance, and process improvements.
• Build relationships with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Treasury, Payroll, and local teams.
• Support knowledge sharing and consistent application of Group Tax policies.
