Job summary

The World Resources Institute (WRI) Europe is seeking a Finance & Accounting professional to support continental operations from The Hague or London. This hybrid role requires 8 in-office days per month and existing work authorization.

The position is a one-year contract with renewal potential and involves close collaboration with the Global Accounting team and program coordinators. You will manage day-to-day accounting, month-end close, budgeting, and reporting for WRI Europe entities,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is required.
• ACCA/CPA/CMA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Full-time accounting experience including month-end closing is expected.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and dashboards for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly and quarterly reconciliations for Europe entities (bank, balance sheet, intercompany, payroll, tax/VAT).
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and reclassifications.
• Coordinate expense tracking with proper coding, approvals, and documentation per policy.
• Process and review vendor invoices, PO reviews, ensuring accuracy and documentation.
• Prepare cash-flow forecasts and monitor cash positions for Europe entities.
• Support budget monitoring and variance commentary for core team budgets.
• Support system configuration and data quality in ERP-related modules.
